Be-Mobile achieves ISO 27001 certification for information security
As a big data company, Be-Mobile places enormous importance on the security of its customers' and partners' data. To take this security to a new level, Be-Mobile has successfully applied the ISO 27001 standard, which is internationally recognized as a standard in the field of information security.
What is ISO?
ISO stands for the International Organization for Standardization, an independent, Swiss-based organization that develops international standards for quality, safety, and more. It is a global alliance of national standardization bodies from 163 countries. Companies can have their processes reviewed by independent certification bodies to ensure they meet these standards.
In our case, we were audited by Bureau Veritas, an independent certification institute. After successfully meeting the requirements of ISO 27001, Bureau Veritas issued our certification.
What does ISO 27001 entail?
ISO 27001 is one of the certificates from the ISO arsenal and a standard for information security. It proves that a company meets standards for protecting personal and/or corporate data and protecting against hacking and avoiding physical intrusions.
By obtaining the ISO 27001 certificate, Be-Mobile shows that they comply with the strict norm requirements around information security. It proves that sufficient measures are taken to meet the laws and regulations concerning information security.
What does this mean for customers and partners?
The biggest benefit lies in the relationship with customers and partners. It shows them that Be-Mobile has achieved a baseline of security and that related risks are sufficiently covered.
With the ever-increasing focus on privacy and security, this assurance is certainly welcome.
Sustained efforts
Be-Mobile is working with huge amounts of data on a daily basis. At Be-Mobile “big data” is not a buzz word but reality. It is taken very seriously that everything is done by the book. The company provides repeated training and awareness for all colleagues to handle data correctly. Annual audits of the company by an external institution will ensure that Be-Mobile continues to work in accordance with the standard.
