Be-Mobile enables automatic toll payment on the A24/Blankenburg connection
Be-Mobile, a European mobility technology provider connecting drivers, road operators and infrastructure, has been accredited as an automatic payment provider for the new electronic tolling (e-TOL) system on the A24/Blankenburg connection in the Rotterdam Rijnmond region of the Netherlands. Through Be-Mobile's Mobility Rights Platform, drivers using the Flitsmeister and 4411 apps can register once and have their tolls paid automatically via licence plate recognition. The accreditation marks a milestone for tolling and connected mobility in the Netherlands, supporting smoother traffic flow on a vital regional corridor.
A vital link for the Rotterdam Rijnmond region
Set to open on 7 December 2024, the Blankenburg connection bridges key urban, industrial and harbour areas, ensuring smoother traffic flows and enhanced accessibility. Be-Mobile's Mobility Rights Platform enables secure, automated toll payments through licence plate recognition technology. The platform's GDPR-compliant infrastructure ensures high standards of privacy and data security while facilitating seamless integration with the Dutch RDW system and multiple service providers.
Accreditation across technology, finance, privacy and security
This accreditation is the capstone of a process in which Be-Mobile and Flitsmeister have successfully demonstrated they meet all requirements in terms of technology, financial management, assurance, privacy and security.
Drivers can easily register for automated tolling via licence plate recognition in the Flitsmeister or 4411 app, enabling a seamless journey and automatic payment on the A24. Instead of paying toll every time they drive through the tunnel, toll transactions are automatically paid via the chosen payment method within the user's Flitsmeister or 4411 account.
Reducing congestion and driving sustainability
The system for automatic e-TOL payment is set up in a flexible way allowing for seamless onboarding of additional service providers, ensuring scalability as the tolling network grows.
