With over 1.4 million visitors in just eight weeks—and up to 45,000 guests per dayKeukenhof Holland is one of the most visited spring attractions in Europe. To help manage this seasonal influx of traffic, Be-Mobile is deploying its Traffic Campaigns Platform, enabling real-time communication with road users and data-driven coordination with local mobility partners that eases congestion and improves the overall travel experience.

Forecasts that turn insight into action

Leveraging advanced prediction models, Be-Mobile visualizes detailed traffic forecasts up to 45 minutes ahead, and large-scale network trends up to five days in advance around the wider Keukenhof region. These insights are shared with key partners such as the Keukenhof organization, the Regiodesk of Zuid-Holland bereikbaar, and public transport operator QBuzz, empowering them to take timely, data-driven measures—whether that means adjusting shuttle schedules or redirecting traffic flows.

Smart in-car communication via Flitsmeister

A core component of this approach is trigger-based in-car messaging, activated automatically in the Flitsmeister app based on real-time traffic predictions. This ensures timely guidance during visitors’ trips, helping prevent congestion before it fully develops. By influencing routing and timing on the go, Be-Mobile effectively spreads traffic both in space—directing drivers toward optimal routes and parking facilities—and in time—encouraging staggered arrivals.

Accurate parking guidance built-in

To further streamline arrivals, the exact navigation locations for Keukenhof’s Parking 1 and Parking 2 have been integrated into Flitsmeister. This reduces unnecessary circulation near the venue and leads visitors directly to the right parking area.

"Our technology allows us to prevent traffic jams before they occur. Together with our partners, we thus contribute to a pleasant visitor experience, while keeping the region easily accessible."

- Febe Boogaerts, Product Manager Traffic at Be-Mobile.

Expanding to the Dutch coastline this summer

Following the Keukenhof season, Be-Mobile will extend the same smart in-car solutions to the beaches of South Holland, such as Scheveningen, Noordwijk, and Katwijk, during peak summer days. In close collaboration with partners including the Province of South Holland and MAPtm, Be-Mobile aims to keep popular coastal destinations accessible and congestion-free, harnessing technology where and when it matters most.
