In-Car Alerts from Be-Mobile Keep Keukenhof Visitors Moving
Be-Mobile, a European mobility technology provider connecting drivers, road operators and infrastructure, is deploying FlowAlert, formerly known as the Traffic Campaigns Platform, to help manage seasonal traffic around Keukenhof Holland. The approach combines traffic forecasting, in-car messaging through Flitsmeister and accurate parking guidance to reduce congestion and improve the visitor experience. The work is part of the SYNCHROMODE initiative and connects directly to traffic management partners in the wider Keukenhof region.
Managing a major seasonal influx
Keukenhof Holland is one of Europe’s most visited spring attractions, drawing over 1.4 million visitors in just eight weeks and up to 45,000 guests per day.
To help manage this seasonal influx, Be-Mobile is deploying FlowAlert. The platform enables real-time communication with road users and data-driven coordination with local mobility partners, easing congestion and improving the overall travel experience.
Forecasts that turn insight into action
Using advanced prediction models, Be-Mobile visualises detailed traffic forecasts up to 45 minutes ahead, and large-scale network trends up to five days in advance around the wider Keukenhof region.
These insights are shared with key partners including the Keukenhof organisation, the Regiodesk of Zuid-Holland bereikbaar and public transport operator QBuzz. This allows partners to take timely, data-driven measures — for example adjusting shuttle schedules or redirecting traffic flows.
Smart in-car communication via Flitsmeister
A core component of the approach is trigger-based in-car messaging, activated automatically in the Flitsmeister app based on real-time traffic predictions. This delivers timely guidance during visitors’ trips and helps prevent congestion before it fully develops.
By influencing routing and timing on the go, Be-Mobile spreads traffic both in space — directing drivers toward optimal routes and parking facilities — and in time, by encouraging staggered arrivals.
Accurate parking guidance built in
To further streamline arrivals, the exact navigation locations for Keukenhof’s Parking 1 and Parking 2 have been integrated into Flitsmeister.
This reduces unnecessary circulation near the venue and leads visitors directly to the right parking area.
Expanding to the Dutch coastline this summer
Following the Keukenhof season, Be-Mobile will extend the same in-car solutions to the beaches of South Holland — including Scheveningen, Noordwijk and Katwijk — during peak summer days.
Working closely with partners including the Province of South Holland and MAPtm, Be-Mobile aims to keep popular coastal destinations accessible and congestion-free.
