About
Who We Are
Be-Mobile is a Belgian mobility technology company, founded in 2006 and based near Ghent. We orchestrate mobility: our platforms connect drivers, operators and authorities with the data and each other, so that individual demand for movement and the collective capacity of the infrastructure meet. The result is mobility that is safer, faster and more efficient for everyone involved.
What Be-Mobile does
Be-Mobile develops and operates digital platforms across traffic management, electronic tolling and mobility rights.
The demand for mobility keeps growing while the capacity of our roads, parking and infrastructure grows scarce. Building more physical infrastructure is rarely durable or cost efficient. Be-Mobile takes a different route. We use data and software to match the demand for movement with the capacity that already exists, so that people and goods move more safely, faster and more efficiently.
In 2006, I founded Be-Mobile mainly out of the frustration of being all too often caught in traffic jams. Whenever I got stuck on the road to Brussels or Antwerp, I asked myself why. In those days there were no smartphones or mobile apps such as Flitsmeister or Google Maps. As a result, there was very little information available for road users. I saw a business opportunity in the digitalization of traffic information using mobile data and GPS technology, both very new technologies at the time.

Founder & CEO, Be-Mobile
From floating car data to mobility platforms
That idea became Be-Mobile in December 2006. Jan Cools still leads the company as CEO today. The first step was to collect floating car data from vehicles on the road and turn it into real-time traffic information. Two decades later, that founding instinct still defines us. Driver-generated data remains an important part of the picture, alongside data from vehicles, road authorities and infrastructure. Together, these sources power everything from the traffic intelligence we deliver to road authorities to the safety warnings and services that reach road users. A series of steps and acquisitions has grown Be-Mobile from a traffic data provider into a full mobility technology company, while the core idea has never changed: connecting movement to the infrastructure that supports it.

Who we serve across the mobility ecosystem
Be-Mobile sits between two sides of mobility. On one side is the individual demand to get from A to B. On the other is the collective capacity of the infrastructure that carries it. Our Connected Driver & Infrastructure Hub connects the two, so mobility can be managed more safely and efficiently.
Individual mobility demand
Get from A to B
We reach road users through our driver communities, third-party mobility apps, OEM in-vehicle systems and connected road infrastructure. Through these connected channels, we deliver real-time mobility information, safety warnings and services, while collecting data and feedback that help power our solutions.
